On Monday, November 23 (public holiday), we will begin accepting applications for the “Rainbow Bridge Ride 2026” event which runs along the Rainbow Bridge (Metropolitan Expressway) and Tokyo Gate Bridge
At the same time, the inaugural “Rainbow Bridge Run 2026,” a 5km running event along the regular roadway will also be held.
Hosting a simultaneous cycling and running event on a landmark bridge in a major metropolis is a globally unique initiative.

➀VIP participants on the Rainbow Long course who wish to do so can ride the Super Long course (approx. 50km), which includes two round trips between the Tokyo Gate Bridge and Wakasu Seaside Park.
*The total capacity includes local, VIP, and group registration slots.
*Rental bicycles are available for an extra 1,500 JPY

*Duplicate applications across multiple categories (General, Local, VIP, etc.) will not be accepted.
(5)Other information
- This event is not a race to compete for rankings or times, but rather a fun ride event.
- Each course features multiple long uphill climbs, with an average gradient of 5% stretching for about 1.5 km.
- You will be riding on the Metropolitan Expressway while crossing the Rainbow Bridge.
- Eligible bicycles must have multi-speed gears or electric assistance (tandem bikes are also allowed).
- Traffic restrictions will be in place around the course on the day of the event (details will be announced at a later date). We appreciate your cooperation.
- The finish line at the Aomi NOP Area will host “MULTISPORTS” , an event featuring cycling and a wide variety of sports.

- This event is not a race to compete for rankings or times, but rather a fun ride event.
- You will be running on the regular roadway while crossing the Rainbow Bridge.
- This event is held as part of “MULTISPORTS,” an event centered around enjoying cycling and various other sports, which takes place at venues such as the Rainbow Bridge Ride finish line.

In order to make eco-friendly and healthy bicycles even more accessible, we are comprehensively promoting various bicycle-related events as part of the “GRAND CYCLE TOKYO” project.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has acquired the “UCI BIKE CITY LABEL” certified by the International Cycling Union (UCI). The “UCI BIKE CITY LABEL” is recognized by the UCI as a city or region that is pioneering bicycle initiatives, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is the first city in the East Asian region to receive the label. In cooperation with UCI and other certified cities, we will further promote sports projects that utilize bicycles and create an environment where everyone can use bicycles safely and comfortably.
