About Courses

This is a ride event that takes cyclists through Tokyo’s landmark locations, such as the Rainbow Bridge and the Tokyo Gate Bridge, which are not normally accessible by bicycle.
The course is suitable for a wide range of participants, including families and cycling enthusiasts as well.
Entry fees vary depending on the course and age category.

・Entry is available for general, for ward residents (Minato-ku and Koto-ku), VIP, and groups.

・If you use a rental bicycle, the fee will be ¥ 1,500. (Helmets are also available for rent.)

・Bicycle rental is available only for those who are 145cm tall or taller.

■Participation Requirements and Course Selection Guidelines

Please check the following table for the entry requirements for each course, and only those who are able to judge for themselves that they are fit and able to ride safely are eligible.
Please note that the standard for participation in this event is that you must have experience in similar riding events and ride a bicycle on a daily basis. If you do not meet these criteria, please consider participating with an electric bicycle.

〇Minors (under 18) participants

 Minors (under 18 years old) participants require the consent of a parent or guardian.

〇Primary School Participants

Participants must be in the third grade of primary school or above, in good health and able to ride safely without straining themselves.
However, one parent/guardian(over 18 years old) must accompany each participant who is in the third grade of primary school or above.

〇Pre-school children
 Only pre-school children whose parents/guardians consider them healthy and able to participate safely and without strain may participate in the event in a specific vehicle.
※Specified vehicles: City Cycle (Mamachari) (electrically assisted bicycle with infant seat attachment and 2-person rides only) and trailer rides (2-person rides only).
However, helmets and seatbelts must be worn.

Precautions

  • The event is a fun ride event, not a race for rankings or times.
  • Participants are requested to put safety first, enjoy the fun ride and cooperate with the smooth running of the event.
  • Please ensure that you have sufficient training and are in good physical condition as there are steep hills.
  • The organisers reserve the right to change the course or cancel or suspend the event itself in the event of natural disasters such as earthquakes, windstorms, floods, strong winds, weather conditions, incidents, accidents, infectious diseases or other hazards that are predicted to be dangerous.
  • In the event of stormy weather, riding on the Rainbow Bridge and the Tokyo Gate Bridge may be impossible.
  • For safety reasons, a rider in charge of the event will be stationed in front of and behind the participants to lead the way. Overtaking of the control riders while riding is prohibited.
  • No stopping to take photographs on the course (public roads and highways).
  • Cameras may be used if they are fixed to the bike or helmet and safety measures have been taken.
  • Taking photographs while riding with one hand is not permitted.
  • Helmets must be worn by all participants. Helmets have become mandatory as of April 1, 2023.
  • The organisers will not be liable for any accident, injury (including death), loss or damage to property resulting from the participant’s participation in the event, except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the organisers.
  • There may be an additional charge for testing for new coronavirus infection.

RINTORE

In order to ride safely, please study the Tokyo Metropolitan Bicycle Safety Learning App “Rintore” in advance. If you pass the test on the app, you will receive a pass number. Those who pass the test will receive novelty goods on the day of the event.
