About Courses

Start and finish in the Daiba and Aomi areas and ride through the Rainbow Bridge, the Tokyo Harbor Uminomori Tunnel, the Uminomori Aquatic Stadium, the Tokyo Gate Bridge, and more. Three courses, Long (approx. 35 km), Middle (approx. 19 km) and Short (approx. 8 km), are offered so everyone from advanced amateurs to bikers and families can participate.

*The participation fee depends on the course and age category. Please refer to “”Number of participants and participation fees”” below for details.
Please check the criteria below for each course. Participation is limited to those who can judge themselves to be capable of riding good health and safety.
Note that it is standard that you have a similar level of riding experience, ride a bicycle on a daily basis, and so forth.
Or, if you do not fall under any of these, please consider participating with the use of an electric assisted bicycle.

*Rental bicycles for rent are bicycles with electric assist, and participants 145 cm or taller are eligible. Bicycles and helmets are rented out as a set.

*Specified vehicles: City Cycle (Mamachari) (electrically assisted bicycle with infant seat attachment and 2-person rides only) and trailer rides (2-person rides only).

・Minors (under 18) participants
Minors (under 18 years old) participants require the consent of a parent or guardian.

・Primary School Participants
Participants must be in the third grade of primary school or above, in good health and able to ride safely without straining themselves.
However, one parent/guardian(over 18 years old) must accompany each participant who is in the third grade of primary school or above.

・Pre-school children
One pre-school child may ride with the parent in a specified vehicle only if the organiser determines that both parent/guardian and pre-school child are healthy and able to participate safely and without straining themselves. When riding, wear a helmet and seat belt.

*Specified vehicles: Riding with City Cycle (Mamachari) (Rear seat-mounted bicycle for infants) and trailer (Driver and one passenger) Note that a helmet and seat belt must be worn.

Precautions

  • The event is a fun ride event, not a race for rankings or times.
  • Participants are requested to put safety first, enjoy the fun ride and cooperate with the smooth running of the event.
  • Please ensure that you have sufficient training and are in good physical condition as there are steep hills.
  • The organisers reserve the right to change the course or cancel or suspend the event itself in the event of natural disasters such as earthquakes, windstorms, floods, strong winds, weather conditions, incidents, accidents, infectious diseases or other hazards that are predicted to be dangerous.
  • In the event of stormy weather, riding on the Rainbow Bridge and the Tokyo Gate Bridge may be impossible.
  • For safety reasons, a rider in charge of the event will be stationed in front of and behind the participants to lead the way. Overtaking of the control riders while riding is prohibited.
  • No stopping to take photographs on the course (public roads and highways).
  • Taking photographs while riding with one hand is not permitted.
  • Cameras may be used if they are fixed to the bike or helmet and safety measures have been taken.
  • Helmets must be worn by all participants. Helmets have become mandatory as of April 1, 2023.
  • In order to ride safely, you will be issued a pass ID if you pass the test on the app (“Rintore”). Those who pass will receive novelty goods on the day of the Event.
  • The organisers will not be liable for any accident, injury (including death), loss or damage to property resulting from the participant’s participation in the event, except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the organisers.

RINTORE

In order to ride safely, please study the Tokyo Metropolitan Bicycle Safety Learning App “”Rintore”” in advance. If you pass the test on the app, you will receive a pass number. Those who pass the test will receive novelty goods on the day of the event.
